How to Install AntiVirus Software

If you don’t have an AntiVirus installed on your computer, you will need to stop doing what you are doing and make that top priority. You will soon find out that an AntiVirus is your best friend. There are so many viruses floating around out there that it is very unsafe to do anything on your computer without some kind of protection. With that said, this guide will show you how to install AntiVirus software. When it comes to installing the software, you have two options; install it from a CD or install it from the internet. This guide will show you how to do both.

Installing AntiVirus Software from the Internet

Let’s begin with installing the AntiVirus software from the internet. You will first need to locate an AntiVirus software that you want to use. Once you have found the one you want to install on your computer, you will need to locate the Download button and click it. A box will then open and ask you where to save the file to. Locate somewhere on your computer to download the file to.

Once the file has finished downloading, you will need to find the file, double click and start the installation. You will be walked through the steps of unzipping and installing the software. Once you have installed the software, you will need to set up your settings for the software. These options should pop up after you have installed the software. If it doesn’t, you can go to the program, open it and choose the option for changing your settings. You will need to let the software know what programs to allow internet access and so on. Once you have your settings like you want them, you can exit out of it, and your protection will kick in.

Installing AntiVirus Software from a CD

If you are using a CD, simply stick the CD in your drive and the installation should start automatically. You will then be walked through the steps of installing the software. Go through the steps to install it on your computer and then change your settings the same way as above. You will find that using a CD to install the software is much easier.
